Read errors on Textel (Plextor) CD-ROM...access CD due to incorrect version.
Cause:
The Textel CD-ROM drive is using a version of software older then 1.10.
Solution:
Upgrade to a more recent version of software, or disable the protected-mode drivers.
NOTE: It is highly recommended to upgrade to a more recent version of software.
Do one of the following:
1) Contact the manufacturer of the CD-ROM drive and obtain a current version of the software.
2) Disable the protected-mode drivers:
a) Click the 'Start' button to display the 'Start' menu.
b) Select 'Settings' and select 'Control Panel'. (The 'Control Panel' window appears.)
c) Double-click the 'System' icon. (The 'System Properties' dialog box appears.)

d) Click the 'Device Manager' tab.
e) Select the SCSI controller and click 'Properties'. (The SCSI controller 'Properties' dialog box appears.)
NOTE: It may be necessary to expand the hardware branches to locate the SCSI controller.
f) Clear the 'Original Configuration (Current)' check box.
g) Click 'OK' to close the SCSI controller 'Properties' dialog box.
h) Click 'OK' to close the 'System Properties' dialog box.
i) Select the 'File' menu and select 'Close' to exit the 'Control Panel' window.
